The Global Clean Water Initiative
Flyer
This project was for a university course on professional practices in graphic design, in which I designed a promotional flyer for a fictional nonprofit, The Global Clean Water Initiative. The objective was to encourage volunteers to enlist for their team and direct them to the team’s website or email them for further information. The flyer needed to resonate with a specific audience (Mexico-based), communicate trust and authenticity, and highlight a strong call-to-action.
The project required in-depth target audience research for colors, typography, and images to appeal to a Mexican audience. I used a nature-inspired color palette that had meaningful symbolism for Mexican culture and that effectively represented what the nonprofit stands for. Typography was selected for its friendly, authentic tone, and imagery was selected to reflect community, health, and sustainability. Guiding lines through design elements, contrasting colors, and type sizes emphasized the call-to-action and established visual hierarchy.
A project schedule and contract were constructed, containing important deadlines, copyright information, and budget constraints was developed to ensure the project was done effectively. After refining the design, the flyer was delivered as a print-ready PDF. The final flyer delivers a culturally aware and visually engaging design that encourages participation while clearly communicating the organization’s mission.
