This project was for a university course on layout and publication design, where the goal was to create a catalog for a fictional art museum called the Metromoheim Museum to showcase its new art collection by fictional artist Wei X. The challenge was to attract and entice the museum’s existing audience and a new audience to visit the museum’s new collection through a visually appealing catalog.

The design process involved choosing typography and a color palette before constructing the catalog. Serif and sans-serif typefaces and deep blue and gold colors that matched the museum’s logo and brand were used while aligning with the museum’s established, sophisticated tone. The layout was carefully constructed using a modular grid, which allowed for versatility, opting for a simple layout that placed emphasis on and organized important content. Several iterations were done through feedback, which refined the catalog to its full potential.

The project was delivered with an editable InDesign file, a PDF, and an imposed PDF for pagination and print, along with design rationale.
